About the Client

UD Trucks is an internationally-renowned automotive company that manufactures and distributes light, medium and heavy duty trucks. Now a member of the Volvo Group, UD Trucks has been in operation since 1973 and manufactures a range of Quon heavy-duty and Condor medium-duty trucks.  UD Trucks also provides a dedicated service and parts division to support business with their truck maintenance programs.

Client Objective

The 2013 Brisbane Truck Show, a major four-day event held at the Brisbane Convention Centre, was the platform for UD Trucks to launch their new Quon model trucks and to engage with consumers.  As part of this market engagement, UD Trucks required a digital survey to be used on smart phones, tablets and desktops that would investigate public perception of the UD Trucks brand and emerging consumer trends.

iFactory Solution

After developing concepts in the iFactory ideas bank, we created a customised survey and email invitation tool, which would auto-send thank you responses, and link with a comprehensive respondent database.  The survey was responsive to display on desktops, tablets and smart phones.  To encourage event attendees to participate in the survey, iFactory proposed a competition to win an iPad which we facilitated.  Survey results were then compiled and analysed in house by iFactory, then formulated into a comprehensive report for UD Trucks.  The response from attendees during the event, and the resulting data that iFactory generated from the survey results was so overwhelmingly positive that the tool has been rolled out nationally.
