About the Client
Vale is a global resources and mining company operating with 139,000 employees across 30 countries. In Australia, Vale operates several coal mines, pipeline projects and exploration programs across Queensland and News South Wales including the Bowen Basin, the Carborough Downs Mine, the Integra Mine and part owner of the Isaac Plains Mine. In addition to their mining operations here in Australia, Vale maintains an extensive logistics arm internationally as well as a sustainable energy innovations division.
Client Objective
As part of their business, Vale had a requirement to showcase their business through an interactive digital display at the 34th International Geological Congress (IGC). Their custom-made, two-storey booth included interactive LED touch-screens and two, wall-sized LED screens to showcase a range of visual displays. Attendees would be able to interact with the touch-screen displays and visually explore Vale’s business and services globally, while the wall screens would showcase themed presentations and social media feeds. Technical support throughout the event would be integral.
iFactory Solution
Similar to Vale’s website theme, the touch-screen display centred on an interactive world map, where attendees could explore the business’ activities across different countries. For the custom-made, wall-sized LED screens iFactory integrated a Twitter moderation tool and a themed Flash presentation. The Twitter moderation tool incorporated the use of key hashtags and Twitter handles and broadcast could be controlled by Vale moderators. Each day of the Congress was themed, which guided the design and content of the Flash presentation, which switched between a gallery of photos taken during the previous day and a visual display of their business capabilities. Technical support was provided through a locked-internet server base to ensure prompt solutions.
